Anyone have some experience/wisdom they would like to share on desert roses? I have a beautiful little one with a decent claudex. Looking to repot and find the best soil for it. I tend to lean non organic lately, and stick strickly with Akadama, Lava, Kiryu or Pumice etc with most of my stuff, although I understand some require other mixtures. I ordered Kanuma not long ago to have on hand and was thinking it may be a great fit since it's a little more acidic. Most search results yeild with perlite, coir, a rock, but I prefer not to trust very easily. I'm also not a big fan of perlite, nor do I care for the look of coir, unless Its indeed needed?

A high quality cactus mix would be fine. Or make your own....great drainage us required.

I have mine in Miracle-Gro Cactus/succulent mix. I don't think they are that picky about their soil. desert rose.jpg

1000009410.png1000009410.pngCan any one tell me if this looks sunburned?? I've had it 5years. I live in Las Vegas and had it in doors for the winter.. It sits in a south facing window. I moved it out side as the temperature has gotten warmer. It sits on a table facing east to receive morning sun to get acclimated. Can I cut this yellow part off?? Or will it heal on its own?? Any advice is appreciated.
