Queen of the Nuts
These are my proposed displays for our local show this year. Feel free to offer constructive critique! I learned a lot about placement and details on Monday during our study group. Have to give my teacher @Owen Reich much credit and thanks for my progress in learning how to display (among other things!) in a far cleaner and better way than I have been accustomed to. It is one thing to look at books and pictures, but 3 dimensions are pretty different and change the game significantly. I also learned that the tiniest detail can make monumental differences in perception.
I have one detail that I have not decided on, and that is which wood slab to use under the accent plant in the Hornbeam display. I have three choices, one is light wood, the other two are pretty similar, one is slightly larger and less aggressive live edge than the other.
First up is my Korean Hornbeam "Seventh Samurai"
with the three different slabs, and closeups of them as well.
