I do not pull weeds to make them suffer. I do pull them and toss them aside though.

I gently pull them out and pot them to make a nice kusamono...then I throw it in my fireplace. Weeds are the worst.

Use a scissors to cut the head off, leave the roots to
rot and return the nutrients, also not disturb the soil.
Then into the compost heap.
Good Day

Anthony knows what's up!

I don't have a huge weed problem right now. But what I do have is a pine problem. My backyard has two very tall and very old pines and every week I have a new seedling popping up.

Pull weeds? I am 63 and I consider it Old Fashioned... Really.

What works nicely is an old dish towel wet with Round Up left on the surface of the substrate for awhile(lets say an hour). Remove it and a day or two later even the dead "litter" is gone via wind. If not a cheap paint brush makes it quick and easy.

Save some time for yourself, go for a walk, fishing, the range, etc... :)

Something to consider next time you grab the roundup..

Never have, never will... Applied to the leaf of the weeds is what is needed. If you spray it there is a concern it will have some effect on the substrate and its contents. Controlled application to the weed leaf only(not the plant or substrate) will never be a concern at any level to me. :)
