This ugly fungus pushed right up through my blacktop driveway. I looked it up and its Pisolithus arrhizus, dog turd fungus.turns out its a beneficial mycorhyzae of oaks and other trees. I may harvest some and inoculate my oak bonsai with it.dog turd fungus.jpg

First...I thought you seen the new material I purchased recently. I know it's ugly...but dang! Lol

But, makes me wonder...does it smell as such? My neighbor who has a cottage down our way. Has found multiple piles...assuming from the Australian who hasn't grasp you pick up after your dog. He commented to him to not leave his dog poo in his yard. To find only a significant amount more the following weekend. Could it be this fungus...or the neighbor leaving it on his lawn.

Had a client with that stuff. You can see what it will do to a driveway, think of the potential damage it could do to a bonsai...
