Last post for today, I promise.

I collected this dogwood a few weeks ago. If it survives, I’m going to chop it next year. I’ll take the main trunk down to that first set of leaves that are opening now. Debating whether to completely remove the smaller trunk or chop that low next year but keep it. Either way, no work will be done this year so it can recover.

Nice root base! Yeah, be patient with this one! 😀
Id say keep that low branch. Perhaps pull it down a bit for some movement. It Maybe the future of this tree.

I too like the nebari good luck with this one.. I do think I would do a trunk chop.Chop.. it's already got a nice like Leader down-low..

Looks promising. Personally, I wouldn't be so quick to chop it down low. I think it would make a nice slanting, taller, slender, more feminine tree. I would probably keep the low branch (at least for now) but cut it back hard this winter.
