So my grandpa is going to cut down a dogwood and grind the stump, unless I want it. He said I have a week to decide or he will have someone do the job. I know it isn’t the right time of year, but is it possible to collect and survive with the right amount of rootball? And is it too big? I plan to cut it at the line and see what happens, or I may pass I haven’t decided yet, any thoughts? 8093BD0B-1603-4018-93B3-87C2521C5380.jpegB47776A8-316F-4DB4-A3FF-2DA90564F415.jpeg

Fuggetaboutit. The tree is old and weak. It's reached the natural life expectancy of dogwood. Even if you could lift in late winter it wouldn't make it.

Zach your were right it is not worth digging after further inspection I noticed a lot of rot, if I did dig it up there wouldn’t be much to pull or save. Oh well at least I got a azalea bush from a lady I did landscape for. But thanks for the clear thought. 6EAC7ED8-7DD8-4FD9-B78C-1B785818E554.jpeg

Yeah it was pretty disappointing to find that out but I guess that’s the cons of this hobby. I have others picked out for next year so it’s all good.
