Someone told me once to not throw away anything (wire, soil, pots and even dead plants). I recently had a shimpaku juniper die after 30 years in my possession. It died over the winter and I have no clue as to why. Anyway, it was a beautiful tree and I decided to jin the entire tree and bleach. I place it in a rock setting this afternoon and took a pic. Enjoy. The pic is a little over exposed.

It's a ghost of it's former self. Would be great for a Halloween display with spooky scroll and neat little shitakusa.

Hey look a finished Bonsai...

Sorry about your loss.

like so many have said before....."the only finished bonsai is a dead bonsai."

Sorry for you loss; it looks like (from the beautiful branch structure) that it was a very nice tree.

I have always heard that a bonsai is never finished. This is true even in deadwood. It can be placed in mayn different landscapes. I wood like to see a deadwood forest!

Very impressive indeed!!!

Dano sorry to hear about your tree...its tough when that happens. However, to keep a dead tree around is just plain morbid.;)

Bubbafrga,

Maybe you should send me some spanish moss from Darien to hang on the limbs!

Trees who have gone to tree heaven...

I am fairly certain I am leaking a family secret... but Daniel throws them on the roof. ;)
