I was getting my "bonsai hours" in this morning.
Frozen means no watering means some looks and such.

Figured these would photograph a bit better in the outside light.

Wasn't expecting to find what I found and be compelled to start their threads......

Start Proper documentation with this.

Cuz I hate not knowing where they came from.

A crap phone daylight pic of this one...
Which has a decent flare, yet needs to lose a branch on both sides...
But they remain for health and options now. I removed everything that will most bulge the knuckle.20170322_080557.jpg
Long straight root that curves where it ends. Tell of the previous smaller pot.
Grey dirt and perlite is jammed around the outer, which was bone dry after I watered it yesterday.
Some pros and cons to that.

But here's the exciting part.....
20170322_080649.jpg

Definitely a better shot in daylight....
But look closer!
20170322_080718.jpg

No time like the present! Make those "bonsai hours" count!20170322_080936.jpg

What!
I didn't even see all that yesterday!

FVG's , put em on!

How is that swoop across the top of that spread not going to be Friggin awesome?!

I kept a bud on that large removed branch, and intend to grow a branch to make a nice fatter jin out of, with movement to compliment the swoop...

Eventually, I hope to have that "mooseantler" all dead, with the jin, accent the swoop with some DW, keep the image in tight.

I sealed all the cuts with loctite G02 glue. A first on Mugo. So far so good.

This is a good example of how I like to "let nature" do the trunkline, and create a tree around it.

I'm not talking straight trunks!

I couldn't have produced this start better than Ma Nature.

Feel free to draw up some virts!

Please!

My phone went like that coz I should of had it in a cover, now the camera part is totally unusable. Just normal wear in a pocket scratches it to hell.

Either way I like the trees, that second one has weird going on, I like that.

Nice to see that I have the second worst camera on this site. Mugo is about the only pine for sale at box stores near me

The Dabbing Mugo got eff rooted.
Of course the one with the best roots on the surface is a block of corn on the inside.

It is doing well....though it shouldn't!

This one...got some blodoodoodoodoooo's cut on the surface...and a bit of a trim.

It should make it so I'll repot next year.
Lessin I get ground space!

Wow, I didn't know pine roots could do that! Awesome!
Now you've got me vamped up to try and do a root tissue culture.

I got a Mugo Pumillo this winter, it was drowned, container bound, yellow and unhealthy. I keep reading they're supposed to be yellow in winter.. What's your take on that Sorce?
I believe no healthy plant should be yellowing, no matter what. But I want to make sure that I'm picking the right approach in nursing the poor thing back to health.

Sorry I missed this!

Search my Pugo Mine thread. It had some pretty ratty grayish pics...
But anything yellow here has been no good.

Its tips are slightly yellow, but I feel it will green up in spring....

This one has a bigger problem, needlecast? Dunno...not worried about it quite yet.

That root thing is nothing short of amazing.
Um...fuck yes that will be a feature if it grows!

Almost looks like a nute burn to me, those tips at least.
I'll read your mugo pages from front to back again, see if there's anything I have missed that I can use for my mugo.
Thanks for the advice.
