Hey Nuts,

What do you all recommend in terms of a dremel for cleaning up deadwood? I'm looking at the Dremel 4000 6/50 120 volt, corded, with a flex shaft. Comments?

I think any of the dremel models would work fine. I purchased a refurbished dremel 4200 awhile back and it has worked great. If you're cleaning up dead wood you probably are using wire brush wheels. The wire brush rotary bits from dremel tend to be of a lower quality and deform easily. When cleaning deadwood use a light touch. If you press the wires too hard against the wood they'll deform and stop abrading wood well. For the finish up deadwood to blend in tooling marks I would use a bonsai brush instead. I'll last longer and do a better job than the wire wheels.
