This is a field grown Japanese Hornbeam (12year) grown from seed by Driftwood Bonsai. It was put in an Anderson flat 2 years ago. I picked it up when I was down there a couple weeks ago.

it has some disproportionate branches up high. It is a little late to hard prune it. I cut back some and cleaned up the old wounds.

Quite a project there!
Pretty cool.
The leaves look very pointy for Hornbeam....?
Though I haven't seen Japanese Hornbeam in a while.
