Dwarf Alberta Spruce

This was one of the very first plants I bought (at Home Depot no less). Now... I have come to understand that Alberta Spruce is a very bad choice to use as a bonsai for many reasons, but for some reason I've decided to keep this one. It would probably be a much better landscape shrub.

I think the only time it looks cool, is in the spring, when the new (and very soft), bright green needles emerge.

Anyway, I thought I would show you guys a picture.

About 5 1/2 years ago the very first tree I bought to make a bonsai out of was a dwarf alberta spruce.....yep, killed it! I think I may have read 2 books at that point... It is fun to look back at those times and just laugh.

Yeah, plant it in the landscape or do something extreme to it and hope it lives...
