Dwarf Crape Myrtle Advice

I could use some help with general direction/advice for early fall styling on this diamond dazzle crapemyrte I just picked up. I like the trunk and gnarly branches but not sure how much if any
Styling I should be doing right now. I did see from mirai that early fall can be a good time for styling. I’m in 8a hardiness zone.

Word from a newb, I would say start in the same place you would if you were pruning a
big tree in the yard, or even a fruit tree in an orchard. Anything unhealthy, crossing branches, long branches that aren't making shoots of their own. You'll get an idea of who it wants to be once it's cleaned up.

Hard to tell without more possible front angles. As stands photo-wise, the tree I see is here, beginning with hard cuts and repot in late winter -including the separation of the back trunk.

Okayyyy chopped and potted. Hopefully it wakes up! Kept the split trunk for now as I’m not sure which direction it to take it. (Bottom left if you weren’t previously following)
