This is a dwarf crested iris a friend gave me. It was collected growing wild in the Appalachians in N GA (and he had permission to do so:)). It bloomed yesterday morning:D. To give an Idea of size, the pot is 3" tall by 5" wide. I have others in smaller pots, but this is the only on that has bloomed so far.

Very unique bloom! Anxious to see the others :)

Nice accent plant ! My granny used to grow Iris they are beautiful plants in the spring with maybe a week or so of bloom. They have to be removed from the ground mid-summer and divide the bulbs (rhizomes) that grow in the spring after the blooms. If not divided they tend to rot and will limit or quit the bloom. Lot of maintenance but a pretty show!
