Okay friends. This dwarf gardenia was in a particularly perilous spot of my front garden and over the years has slowly been dying off and getting smaller (you can see some dead growth at the base that I cut off) after some light reading on gardenias, I figured it’s chances of survival might be better off collected and potted. If she dies, well it’s just a 7 dollar plant I bought 3 years ago. But I really hope I can save it! Something about it is interesting.
okay into the question. A LOT of the root mass was dead, and the roots were sodried out I’m not even sure what was alive or not, so I triedto keep as much as possible. I potted it up with some jacks bonsai soil and there isn’t muchroom for the roots to spread in this pot. What do you all think, should I leave her in the bonsai soil/pot or move to a bigger pot with regular soil? Also open to other after collection care suggestions! (Pictures taken inside bc it was dark by the time I was finished, but I’ll be trying to keep it outdoors as much as possible, weather permitting)
