2 months ago I got a ginseng looking Ficus that was in a training pot and doing well. I let it grow wild until a week ago when I decided to repot it in a proper zinsheng pot and proper bonsai soil.

Ever since then the leaves have been drying up and falling down. The new soil does not retain water as well as the other did. So I make sure the soil doesn't get too dry but I am a bit lost.

What do you think is happening to that tree?

Thanks,
Vincent

Can you post some pictures? Are you feeding it? Do you have it under artificial light?

I wouldn't worry. It's only been a week. It's probably just reacting to being repotted and the roots being bothered. I think it will be fine and within a couple weeks start pushing new buds. After it starts budding out and you know it's healthy I would chop the branches back down quite a bit.

These are encouraging news, thanks!

That tree does need a good trim :-)
