Dying Seedlings - Please Help

Hi.

This (pine?) seedling has been growing since late April but recently the tips have started to turn brown. This is also the case with the smaller (birch?) seedling whose leaves are also turning brown after sprouting a few weeks ago.

Please can someone identify the seedlings and let me know a) what this browning effect is and 2) if there is anything I can do to save them/eliminate the browning. I repotted them a few days ago in fresh soil in the hope this would help.

Awesome cheers mate, you reckon they'll recover if I lay off the water and move them outside?

That's best. Though it may be a bit late in the season to see success.
It's still the only option!
