So I'm airlayering some branches off of a 7 foot Ficus B I was given. When I checked he moss a few days ago I found earwigs between the foil and plastic. I wasn't really concerned since they weren't inside the plastic. When I checked today they were also inside the plastic. How they got in there I don't know. But they managed. I know they eat bugs and soft leaved plants. But someone told me they eat roots also. Should I be concerned now? Obviously I got them out of inside the plastic but do I need to take extra precautions in some way to prevent them from getting in there?

Thanks everyone!
Kevin

My understanding is they aren't a threat, I haven't had any concern, and see plenty of them, I think they look for dark and moist. WOuldn't want them in my ears for sure.

I've got plenty of them beneath my trees and they are on shelves. I haven't noticed them doing anything destructive.
