This Thuja occidentalis is about 20 years old. It was a seedling in the garden, and I developed a trunk within the first abou 6 years. Two years in the growing field, then cuttung back and selekting the branches and foliage and the roots; then another two years in the growing field. The result is the first photo from 2010. The second photo is 12 years later.

Excellent work. I can't say I've seen such a nice cultivated white cedar, as most the ones we see in the states are collected. They make wonderful bonsai if you like the loose, free style they produce.
