Ebay Posting, A must see.

Hey, it could have come from Korea...making the listing accurate. ;) Just $425 with free shipping? Buy it quick! :p

Thanks for the laugh. What is funnier is if someone buys it.

I saw some seeds for 10k on there yesterday. This tree is a bargain!

Actually, I have heard some of these deals may be for money laundering. You go to eBay, post some things for outrageous fees, and someone "buys" them. Voila! money changes hands for a "reasonable" eBay fee.

I sent the seller a couple questions. This may be the perfect tree I've been looking for.
Edit. The seller replied to my question whether it was from North or South Korea. He said he just got it last year and didnt pay attention to which it came from... I also asked what it was but got no reply.

I spent $25 on a Parsons last year that blows this one out the water! If I stick it in a Bonsai tray, I oughta be able to get about $2,000 for it by this pricing!

Well, you all know what P.T. Barnum had to say ....

8 bids and reserved not met at $50.

I had no idea you could launder money thru paypal.......I thought laundered money had to be the exchange of actual money. You know, like a pawn shop or dry cleaners....

It probably isn't as hard as one might think. Pay cash for one of those Visa green dot prepaid debit cards at Walmart and use that to pay for the eBay item. Seems like small peanuts though laundering four hundred bucks at a time.

I don't know much about money laundering, but the story I read said this was an effective way to move funds across borders. Note the low number of feedback on the seller's side. Create an account, sell an "expensive" item. Close account. It is also an effective way to take payment for the sale of something illegal - pay for an expensive bonsai on eBay, receive delivery of something else. Just like how the NSA was concerned about terrorists using computer game chat rooms to communicate - it is hiding in plain sight.

Wow such a bargan.....

I think Ive got a couple of trees I could make $500 each on easy.

Lol

So are you saying that that might not be the actual tree that I would be buying? :p

Careful now, the "you-know-who" might be listening...

Do you want to know how politicians launder illegal campaign contributions? ;)

I think we are talking about two different kinds of illegal transactions: 1) laundering which is typically done to illegally legitimize funds as in the visa green dot ebay scenario or in the case of the car wash on Breaking Bad 2)and perhaps the illegal transfer or trafficking of monies for illegal activities

sure why not?

Are you familiar with political dinner fund raiser? Those $500 or even $5,000 a plate dinners? That is how.

They hold these and "invite" people they know and in exchange for their signature, they get to wine and dine for FREE with the elite. Everybody wins...person eats for free, politician suddenly have a new legal "donor" to his campaign fund for the amount of the meal. The loss is the meal price which, most of the time, is also "donated" or heavily discounted anyway. ;)
