Effects of La Niña on maple dormancy

It’s December and 70 degrees outside. My Japanese maples (shishigashira and deshojo) still have their leaves and they’re green, no less. These trees look like they’re at the end of summer, beginning of fall. I have four species of azalea, all with huge buds, none have broken, thankfully.

we are going to hit spring in a few short months at it seems like we are going to skip any dormancy. Would love to hear anyones thoughts on how this affects care regimen.

I would be more worried about a sudden freeze at this point.

They can survive one mild winter but Id be careful how much work you do to them the following year.
If the trend continues and they cant get dormancy for several years, their health will probably suffer eventually.
