I recently purchased an elm bonsai. It came in a plastic pot with what seems to be regular soil. Should I replace the soil or wait till spring? An image of the soil is attached261360

So the soil won’t cause the roots to rot?

During winter I think I will bring it inside and place it next to a bright window. Keeping it outside is not possible ( I live in Colorado and the yard will have 4 feet of snow regularly)

I keep all of my elms outside during the winter. The snow can act as an insulator. The only trees that get special attention are my japanese maples. They go in cold storage for the winter.
