Collected this elm last spring. Was growing in gravel and came up very easy. Has grown alot more roots since when i first found it. Any advice or opinions for future development and direction 20210420_003849.jpg20210420_003906.jpg20210420_003121.jpg20210420_003802.jpg20210420_003938.jpg appreciated

Seems the outside part are going to grow, so I'd remove the inside "crotch growth" as soon as safely possible.

Then cut them straight things off and any older crotch growth too.

Looks like you're always going to get that growth, so I would be sure to clean the interior well enough to always be able to go in and pull that useless crotch growth out before it gets a hold.

Nice.

thats an interesting piece, we dont often see elms like this across the pond, i didnt think they existed. 2 options, you could do what Source suggested or you could wire out the whole thing, get some shape into the primaries and do a cut back later in the season once youve gotten more thickness in the primaries.

progression on one i used to own, yours might suit a similar framework
