@Brian Van Fleet thanks and I have to agree but it will leave a huge gap taking it off plus I need to get the right tool if I take it out.Looks good. I only see one shoot I’d be tempted to remove because it’s so much heavier (stronger) than the others.

@Wilson this tree just had repot after falling and imported from Japan this year I think that big chop will stress it outBrian is bang on. That huge gap would last days, this tree will grow like crazy.

I would need to get some concaved branch cutters before spring I thinkI agree. That limb does look a bit out of place.
I doubt that Elm would even notice. As Wilson said that gap will be covered in a few weeks.
Elms are some tough trees. But then again it is YOUR tree.
