Escallonia yardadori . A neighbor wanted this dug out of his yard but wouldn't wait for spring ,so I had to dig it in late fall . I did everything at once including putting it into a bonsai pot . It lived obviously but all the neat branching died way back . So I carved out grooves and started training branches into them and upwards . I think this has been growing about 2 years now . I've carved the base and think its going somewhere . It is very easy shrub to care for .
