This Euonymus seems to have opened its buds, but I’m eager to hear if at this point May 4, 2021 would be a good time to dig it up trunk chop and leave in the ground. Thank you for your thoughts17D7B9F0-5AD4-4C8A-8DCF-11AB9622B340.jpegC86C45CD-A5DC-4211-B798-AFE23A07B973.jpegA7EC4F81-FE49-495D-9665-CAF268F65C9B.jpeg

I'm not familiar with this species, so I'll leave when to cut on it to someone else, but can you leave it in it's current place, or does it have to move?

It doesn’t need to be moved. I am just not sure about the soil considering all the vinca surrounding the tree. I maybe wrong and the soil and ground cover are fine for it.

Eonymous in my area is soo hardy you could pull it through a chipper and plant the bits and have good growth in 3 hours.

I would not be too concerned if it had to move now. But if it does not.. I would chop, leave in-place for the year and dig up at leaf drop, assuming that is several weeks (4-6) before frost arrives. Else dig in spring..
