I have bonsai-ed all the weeds in my garden...if I did not...I could have killed many trees clipping them non stop.
This is something I have failed to find a bonsai from. I have one in my garden that I have grown for over 20 years from a cutting, so I decided to air layer it.
Not sure if I will manage to make a bonsai from it, but I have to try. I have not found a bonsai made from it to date.
It has long internodes, and if cut back it gets 30 shoots from a node...which if not addressed fast creates a knob. But if you remove the shoots new ones keep on coming.
Here is what I did to date. Any advise...info...a picture of bonsai from it will be appreciated.
AL removed
and planted
Removed one of the trunks but left it a bit long so I get some shoots in that area...it will be carved later.
Yesterday I found it flowering and it looks good.
I have a shoot mid way the top section of the trunk so That will be the new leader. Later I shall try to create some taper on the trunk, by hollowing and splitting it.
