Little update.
This guy is doing well. Everyday you can see growth. Love that it's just a trunk with this big load of leaves coming out the top.
The lower bud hasn't done much yet, but I'm sure he will.

Nice to see your beech is on the same sort of movements as my collected one. I shall no longer call him lazy.

I've so far not had caterpillars eat leaves of my trees but this one got in.. found the guy whilst looking at the leaves one day. Little bugger has eaten a good amount! I sprayed insecticide on the tree now to hopefully avoid for future.

Hoping it doesn't impact its growth too much, I can see multiple nodes, so hopefully fresh, unaltered leaves will unfurl soon.
