I'm looking to find a systemic insecticide that I can use on flowering trees (to include maples), while minimizing harm to pollinators. I'll save my rant about irresponsible uses of Bayer/BA 3-in-1, Safari, Merit, and the like.

Research is pointing me towards spirotetramat, which is sold by Bayer (as Movento and Kontos).

It's labeled [PDF link] for treatment of the usual suspects (aphids, mealybug, scale, spider mites, etc.) for containerized plants. But, it's not exactly packaged for home use (Kontos is only officially sold in 250ml bottles, $185 here, enough for 255 gallons at the highest recommended foliar spray concentration).

So, before I try an organize a group buy or something, I'm wondering if anyone here has used it and can comment on its effectiveness on bonsai species for things like spider mites, scale, and borers.

Any update on this?
I work on Citrus industry and one of the Pest Director there told me that Movento is their go to pesticide specially for spidermite here in the Valley.
