Fall Color of "Shi" - my 4 trunk Japanese Maple

Nice, you damned near missed it!

Nice! Is there a photo showing the natural leaf curl of the Acer palmatum 'Shishigashira' ? Curious if they flatten going into dormancy or? Pretty though and thank you for sharing :)

Grimmy

Grimmy, this one is just a plain old Japanese Maple. Shishigashira have MUCH smaller leaves that are pretty much always curled. It's named Shi because it has four trunks (shi is 4 in Japanese).

The shari is actually the old tree in the middle that died long ago, and all other trunks grow out of it.

Here is the original thread two years ago; http://bonsainut.com/index.php?threads/4-trunk-japanese-maple-clump-shi-death.10101/

I'll take some more pictures as soon as the leaves drop :)

Looking great Bri! Nice to see this one again. Would like to see more of your trees posted with updates...:)

Wow very nice, love to see it out of leaf. I love knarly old trees like this!
