Actually all the tridents are in grow pots this year. I have decided it was better to forego the exhibit circuit for two seasons and get them their best for the Shohin Seminar in Feb. 2010. They are doing very well. Much fatter branching now, and the ramification this year with two defoliations really helped. The sumo trident is due for three thread grafts this year. I did 6 when I bought the stump and 4 took. That is the branches I have now.

Check back then.

Nice color on some nice shohins. unfortunately my trees don't provide much color but green, so I have to relay on mother nature for my fall colors, or enjoy pictures of folks that post trees that provide some beautiful colors for fall. Thanks for posting Big Al1.

Beautiful color Al, but I find it strange that your hornbeams have turned down in Fresno, while mine have not up here in WA. I just took another look though it's still dark (flashlight), and my bonsai
hornbeam has a few bright yellow leaves, the rest green. The two still in the ground are totally green.

Aesome red on a trident. I get some orange but never this deep of red. Sometime mine look like a mix of burnt orange...orange in the middle with burnt edges!

Good color, Al
