Ok just watched another MAIRI video where todd explains that the growth you see is from last years fertilise application? Now i thought the new growth on Decidious trees use the fertiliser that you applied during spring and from there on?

Sorry i'm just learning and new to all this.

I don't recall the video. Can you be more specific?

Is he talking about spring growth on deciduous from the prior year's application of fertilizer in the fall?

This year's fert program will build roots if applied correctly. Energy for next season's growth gets stored in the roots. Next spring this reserve gets used to push new growth until the new foliage takes over energy production.
