Hi folks. Does too much fertilizer cause the tips of Japanese black pine needle to turn brown like this? It's only on some of the needles of one candle at this moment. I check on my pine everyday almost. All of a sudden I spotted this today.

Did you bump it? It looks like broken needles.

Minor needle cast? Daconil.

Thanks folks. Looking at the Bonhe's chart that Osoyoung linked, I think I could rule out alkaline soil or heat. The fertilizer combination that I use has humic acid and cotten seed meal. The rest of the pine looks healthy and green except for some of the needles in the picture. Also I just moved the pine recently, so it's possible that I may have bumped it to cause the tips to turn brown. I just sprayed some neem oil on all my pines today as part of a fungus prevention regimen. I'll spray Daconil in a few more weeks and be done with it. I guess now I just monitor and wait.
