Ficus Burtt-Davyi (African Fig) Styling Question

I purchased this ficus three years ago from a nursery hoping to thicken up the trunk and eventually create an upright style bonsai. The trunk is about 1.5" thick and I think I'm ready to trunk chop it to create a new leader and establish taper.

However, I'm totally lost as where to chop it and if I should leave the branch on the left and the branch in the back as part of my final design or remove them. (see attached photo)

All suggestions and tips are much appreciated!

I'd airlayer it above that left branch.
Everything below that is kinda blah....

Then you got good top growth on the layer to keep building, and seemingly better movement.

Throw out the bottom.

Or feed it to the dog!
