Hello, one of my ficus benjamina needs repotting. It’s 90 tomorrow in San Diego and I’m strongly considering it. What do you think?

Go for it. Summer is tropical repotting time.
Just watch it after for watering needs. It will probably dry out a bit faster with new soil than it did before the repot.

Go for it, it will be fine. I have a Tigerbark I plan on repotting tomorrow. It's not exactly summer anymore bit I'm not worried about it.

Done!

Not sure what species I have. Perhaps it’s tiger bark. I ran the branches a bit this season to strengthen the tree. I will wire and prune a bit in the fall. Any other suggestions?

Good result. Should now explode with new shoots.
I certainly do not have the patience or dedication to cut paste every small cut as you do.

Thank you, Neil. Yes, I wasn’t sure if I need cut paste as white sap was oozing out for every cut. Conifers don’t need them as they can heal with their resin. In the end, I applied cut paste just to be sure.
