Interesting. Am I correct that between 2015 and 2017 some of your ground-layered branches died, or you removed them in the interest of restyling?

I am almost speechless. I missed this before, but your process and the result are both confounding and confounding cool! Now I have to ask @Forsoothe!, was the current direction all part of the plan 6 years ago? Or are you as surprised as I am?

Yes, and no. (The first photo is of the plant in ~2013). The style is what I envisioned, and has evolved nicely, but I had several low branches that I thought I could force into banyan roots by burying the tips which didn't work at all. I probably did it work.

This is an awesome progression. From start to finish this tree looks completely different. I also really loved what you did with wiring the branches into the dirt, I have never seen anyone else do that before and have it turn out looking so good. Kudos to you!
