What's the longest that WP keeps a tree growing-on in the ground in-between root trimmings?

I do not keep trees in the ground anymore. I try to avoid root trimming if at all possible. Sometimes after two yers, sometimes after 15 years. Root trimming does not help trees! It bothers them and shoulc only be done if absolutely necessary. Nobody trims roots in a setlled garden or in the mountains.

Yes. In the ground you only have problems.
