Hello,

I have this fig tree for several years now, it is about 5 years old. Is it getting too large for my house at about 5 feet tall and I want to turn it into Bonsa tree.. I am planning to repot it into bonsai pot with Bonsai soil which I have decent experience with, but I am in doubt when it comes to chopping trunk back. I am thinking to cut back dominant branch up to blue arrow in photo and completely delete all other brunches. Does this make sense? Is now good time to do this? What is the best sequence- I am thinking to repot it first and wait several weeks until I chop trunk back. Thank you.

To clarify I am in Boston MA and I have kept it inside for winter, treating it as house plant. I am planning to take it outside any day now.
