First Bonsai

I am planning to make my first bonsai out of the stump of this cork bark elm tree to get some good trunk size from the beginning. Can anyone give suggestions about what shape of bonsai this would be good for?

One thing people seem to really hate here is bad images.

I’m not too picky about it but this one is pretty tough.

By shape, you mean style? Probably any upright style would work but informal upright is probably your best bet here.

Hopefully it will be a bit easier to see clearly when I clear all the low hanging branches so I can actually get in there. I think the informal upright is a good choice.
