I have a dwarf jade . I have shelf in front of a east facing window, it's a great spot in terms of viewing the bonsai. it receives sunlight diffused from behind a large tree in my backyard. Today I moved it out to my deck to get some more sunlight but I am concerned about a couple things.

1. Should I not be moving it around so that it acclimates to its environment?
2. Is the diffused sunlight from behind the tree enough light?image.jpg

It’s best not to move any plants around constantly. They take time to acclimate and moving it frequently will keep it from ever really settling in.

I keep my portulacaria outside through the growing season. I only bring it in for winter and keep it under lights. It will probably remain pretty weak if you try to grow it with just light from a window.

No tree wants to grow inside.

The window is probably defusing quite a bit if light too you just don't realize it. With most plants they need time to acclimate to bright conditions so easy it into the deck but once it is there it should like it.
