I've worked slowly with this pine (Aleppo?). It was a living Christmas tree that was planted in the ground. I dug it up five years ago. It has had the same watering regeme and has been in the same spot in the garden, but for the past two weeks it appears to be turning brown and drying out.

Any clues?

I'd say it's probably a water/root/drainage issue. The roots may have filled the container, or the soil has broken down and isn't draining, or a combination of both.

Once conifers start turning crispy up top, they're in real trouble.

How is the tree? Did the tree survive?
