Hello everyone.

Should I be worried if my Flowering Quince (Chaenomeles Japonica) is flowering now?

We've had a bit of crazy temperatures over here, but cold is coming soon.

I know some species tend to flower if they're dying.

Should I let it be? Should I remove the flowers so it doesn't use too much energy?

We had several days of 30 degree temps here in Central Texas and my chojubai are flowering non-stop. I don't think there is anything to worry about. They are quite unpredictable, flowering whenever they want.

I had a crabapple this fall, that had apples and was flowering at some of the same branches :)
