Anyone know what this is? This popped up in my yard among some strategic pre-bonsai that I'm growing out in the landscape...the blue flowers come off long stalks about 2-3' off the ground, and the leaves seem to be compound as in the second picture.

Schlumbergera, a Brazilian native, called Christmas Cactus in the USA, it's known as "May Flower" here, because that's the month they bloom in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is the first white flower of the year.

I'm guessing Aquilegia, a double form of columbine, the leaves screams columbine, the flower is the less than common double form.

I don't know what you call these weeds elsewehere so I will just post the pic of the flowers. Horrid little seeds but I always enjoy the flowers.

This is an , at least, 54 year old bougie in my grandparents yard. The plant is all but neglected but puts on a show every year without fail.

Pleonia Ptolima
Not so sure of the spelling but close.
Love it, nicely done. I always thought Pleione would be good as kusamono, out of bloom the leaves are attractive enough. Getting them through winter dormancy has been a problem for me, my climate is cold enough to require protection, I end up keeping them too wet, and they rot, or too dry and they never wake up. One day I'll get it right.

I have had success with damp sphagnum and paper bag in the unheated garage for winter dormancy. I remove from soil and separate bulbs. Restart in the greenhouse in March.
This azalea is now under reconstruction to reduce and compact branching and foliage. This was the last time it bloomed before rebuilding.
