My bougie reaching out to offer the viewer a flower. After this photo was taken the branch was promptly wired to the side as we ought to keep physical contact to a minimum in these trying times.

Last years poinsettia-turned-prebonsai showing this year's bracts. I didn't expect them to "flower" on their own.

Very cool, never had a jade bloom.

They bloom in winter so if they have to be brought inside then that may affect the blooming. Don't know really.
Also I think neglect helps, that is my healthiest jade and in that small pot it is constantly tipping over and has very little soil in there. I think my others are over watered and by that I mean get water occasionally.

Even this one that I sawed off a massive plant last week and just left laying on the ground to dry is blooming like crazy, going to see if it strikes roots. Pretty sure it will.

My jade bloomed for the first time in 30 years this year. I do think cool temperatures are key. The only real change in care this year is I left them out longer than usual this year. Night temps were getting down to the 40F range when I finally brought them in.

I have several pots all cuttings of the same plant (genetically identical) Only this one bloomed and only from 2 branches. I'm trying to get rid of some of my jade because I have no room for it and I can always start more ;) But maybe I'll keep a couple for next fall and play games with how long they stay outside in the cold before bringing them in.

The good news is that when they do bloom, they stay in bloom for a while :) This spring started blooming on November 29th. Some of the old flowers are dying, but there's still some buds left too.

I like your red one. One of mine is mostly yellow/orange, the other starts out yellow and ends up pink. If I would have known how well these overwinter indoors, I would have gotten some years ago. Next spring I'll be looking for the purple ones. BTW, love the pot also.

Some of the flowers will be orange/yellow. Seems that winter flowers are mostly red. I stole this from my wife when I realized what it was and put it in good substrate. They seem to be quite the water hound. I’ll see what I can do about the pot.... how big?
