Flowering quince, it was 27 F at the farm where this is located, this morning. So just a few hours later, flowers still look good.

Most likely Chaenomeles 'Minerva', but provenance is lost, so we will never be certain.

Splendid unknown Quince on my friends farm, reportedly over 50 year old. ( I’m going to try cuttings off this azalea in a couple weeks)

Here's another look now that more of the flowers have opened up. Still about half are on their way. I'm thinking it's probably not actually a Satsuki at all. It seems more like a Kurume, with the rounded leaves and 3-4 flowers per bud.

Our study group, Arbor Arts Collective, MKE chapter, met at Irene's place Sunday. Member Steve C brought a couple bloomers for display.

Flower crab apple. This is the same tree that Steve exhibited at the Greater Saint Louis Bonsai Show held in Collinsville IL, @Carol 83 might remember seeing it on display then.




Steve also brought a beautifully flowered Primula ( Dodecatheon ) poetica, The Poet's Shooting Star.



An wandering the property, Irene's walking display, Leonardo the Peacock. The peacock is pretty tame, mostly ignores visitors, but likes to show off every once in a while.

What a beautiful bloom. When I first looked at the photo it reminded me of Hardijzer's Beauty an Azaleandron (however that's spelled - cross between azalea and rhododendron) but it's possibly PJM Elite.
