Rose people,
Not an David Austin Rose but of euro decent. Looks like an Austin with the doubled cupcake appearance.
Originally Meidelweis, now Bolero. A floribunda by Romantica. I fed late and got a huge shoot, so big in fact I thought it was a rootstock sucker. Last push of the season. Enjoy.

Further out in the outer garden native species are progressively putting on a show.
Some local indigenous species, some from other parts of Australia.
Lecehnaultia formosa - a West Australia species
IMGP5459.JPGIMGP5460.JPG
Coronidium scorpioides - one of the local wild flowers
IMGP5463.JPGIMGP5462.JPG
Clematis aristata - another local species I've propagated and grown here.
IMGP5467.JPGIMGP5466.JPG
Indigogfera australis. Indigofera is a world wide genus but this one is a local species.

I tried a Mexican Heather before and for some reason beyond my memory, it left me. I never saw one flower until this one, and I bought this little one just because I recognized the foliage as something, and when I read the tag felt I should have another go. Here a month or two later it's really preforming and I have no idea whether it will get any wood to it, I love the flowers and scale of it...

Mexican Heather
Now wish I'd made a note while watching a nature documentary on Mexico -- I believe it was Mexican Heather that grew as a naturally compact shrub with shallow root system to survive a seasonally dry environment -- looked really good for bonsai... Keep us posted!

Not lots of flowers like you guys have but I bought some chojubai cuttings from BVF that arrived on 30 SEP and I just noticed 2 flower buds on one of them. Also, I was fertilizing my trees just now and noticed a flower on my Nuccio's Wild Cherry Satsuki hybrid. I bought it after flowering season so I was ok with knowing that I would not see flowers this year, as according to the website I bought them they flower between late spring and early summer.
