Yes! As many as you want free for the taking. It's spring, and with the nice weather comes WEEDS of every stripe & type. They're everywhere: in every pavement crack, in your landscaping beds, lawns, street gutters, parking lots and fence lines, and anywhere dirt is. And they come with all the low-grade, slow-growing potting soil you need right there in the crevice they came out of. And those tiny lumps of moss that grow in the sidewalk cracks are just the right size to complete the picture! This is the time to keep your eyes downcast for things wild and babies of Sedum and anything else germinating. You need tiny accents for all the trees you're going to exhibit in your club Show, and right now is the time to fill all the accent pots you own and even a few extra plants you can pot up in the little Keurig K cups you've been throwing away. Amaze your friends with Kusamano that has genuine "native" grasses of every type, including the offsets on the side of the giant clumps of grasses, Lilies and who knows what that are currently in vogue. Test your abilities to keep them critters tiny with root pruning. Show off to all your friends, and maybe especially your not friends. Throw away your mistakes and learn to lie with a straight face...

Yessiree, Bob. Cheap, easy to acquire, readily available, widespread, great variety of varieties, diminutive, handsome, aggressive growers in poor conditions, every size clump imaginable, flowering early and often, and weatherproof! That's positive factors taken higher than the third power. What more could you ask for? All you have to do is move quickly while they are in season, and keep them wet in a pan of water, in bright, but not direct sun light. A gift from manna...

I have a Sida acuta mame that just dried out and lost it’s leaves. It looks dead, but has done this before so I’ll wait a bit before starting another. The leaves reduce nicely and it is nice even when not in bloom. I love the way the blooms roll open and closed.

Found this yesterday walking the dog. It was growing on a basalt column along the railroad tracks. Thanks for the tip!

OK kiddies, it's spring 2020 and time to gather new weeds from your yard, parking lots, cracks in the sidewalk, the world at large. Here's two Sedums I have used for years, and two genuine weeds. All God's children look pretty when they're young, even the worst criminal weeds. Go forth and rip some out, little ones, with your fingertips and put them in pretty pots. After you've had your way with them and they pass into the teenager stage of personality, toss them aside, and forget them. Something for everyone's personality, from greenies to meanies.2020_0315Edit0013.JPG
