This tree was given to me two years ago when the top half died in a frost. As shown, it has a double trunk. I cut on trunk way down hoping branches would pop up and I'd have a nice sumo. However, a new trunk popped up at its base. So currently I have three parts: 1) Originally stubby trunk which I might be able to graft into, 2) the original taller stump and the newly grown trunk, growing as appendage to stumpy. Any one have suggestions what to do? It seems to grow vigorously.

From the photos which give a limited view -- I would opt for some carving. Looks healthy so recovery should be quick. Let us see how things progress.
