I’ll get in on this; one of my favorite deciduous varieties. I have had decent success with individual Chinese Elms and I love the idea of a forest so I’ll be giving it a go with these.

Will probably begin stratifying towards the end of this month to go for germination in late April/early May. I haven’t had great success starting elms inside and then moving them out.

A7C8770F-EC44-43A3-894F-17E074242F98.jpegAlright! It’s time to get the Chinese Elms going! 5 bags with a whole bunch of seeds in them. They were soaked overnight before I placed them into damp sphagnum moss. Into the fridge now until late April!

image.jpg Checked on some of the seeds in stratification and I’ve got quite a few starting to root a bit early. I’ll take out and plant anything that is really growing and throw the rest back in the fridge.

Haha yeah these ones didn’t go well… this the lack of updates… I do have Dawn redwoods, JBP, and Siberian crabapple going for this contest, and I actually have trees for those!
