So I might get a bit of backlash for this one, but I fully accept that.

My mom rescued a Fukien tea from a clearance rack and it seemed fine for about two weeks. Then we found out it had fungus nats that wouldn’t go away. I just now did a repot with inorganic bonsai soil (Boon mix) and a tiny bit of organic at the bottom because we don’t have any mesh. The roots are AWFUL! There was hardly any! The best description I can give about it is that it had less than 10% of the original root ball (there wasn't even a rootball). I would like some advice as to how I could possibly help this plant further. I am not super familiar with this plant so recovery advice would be awesome. I don’t have photos of the roots but here’s a photo of the current plant As for the pot choice, I was limited on the options and figured a taller pot would help the roots somewhat. Criticism is fully accepted, just keep in mind that I tried my best

Yeah, some kind of plastic bag. Clear let's light in.
I've had 4 ficus cuttings in a zip lock bag all winter, all 4 have grown.
Increased humidity helps tropical trees grow roots big time.
Got it
Probably gonna have to name it Best Buy now lol
