Solid but had some firing problems on a few with over glaze melt and the kiln shelf. 2 of the rectangles lost some chunks of feet , but I learned a few lessons along the way. Initially i didn’t have a great grasp on how to slow the drying pre bisque , I figured it out about 4 pots in, so the first 4 I built had some cracks , only one of them was the kinda crack that ruined the outdoor viability. Loading another 20 into the kiln on Tuesday and hopefully I can get a lock on how to prevent losing pots during firing. As for glaze I just said %^*# it and layered based on fun, since I’ve drilled digital fire and I think after a few test batches I can get some more predictable results. Dunno long story is I’m still learning and having a lot of fun with it :)

As of wensday next week; I’ll be running my own skutt kiln, right now I’m using the studio and I’ll probally keep using it for bisque firing. I’ll live in a huge artistic community and they have been beyond amazing with guidance. Not to mention they run a massive wood fire and gas kiln during summer :) I’ve been talking w the owners about doing a few massive cone 10 wood fire pots in exchange for my wood hauling services this summer . The kiln purchase was a mix of opportunity and the need to test glaze
Recipes because brushing premixed doesn’t seem sustainable for someone who isn’t planning on selling anyhring too soon .

And last bit ..... lessons learned in bucket labeling. Might be fun tho, oxide wash bucket meets scrap clay. 4B73A4EB-506E-412D-A0A4-DDE2DE9D7A67.jpegF97CD901-8D16-4DCD-9AE7-C572D9080AD4.jpegB9214DE4-1A01-4E4E-8810-842A9C41FA22.jpeg9E388BCA-B436-4826-B1EC-366B804B3144.jpeg9AF6849D-7E07-4B19-ABF4-0D9613E7A7C2.jpegB5BF8170-8D25-4244-8299-CBF4467D7D6F.jpeg5408C152-1B4C-4249-853A-F59F5CE74428.jpeg
